Utilizing financial gifts from Wauneta area residents and businesses, as well as from those who no longer live here but still consider Wauneta their hometown, the Wauneta Community Foundation (WCF) has helped fund improvement projects at the ball field, park, playground and swimming pool. The WCF has led the way on main street improvement projects like the downtown gazebo park and helped pay for new equipment for the Wauneta Senior Center and Chateau Theatre. Memorial scholarships have been set up through the WCF and annual grants from the local foundation have helped pay for field trips and classroom supplies for Wauneta-Palisade students.
The Foundation was established for the purpose of receiving, administering and disbursing funds for the betterment of Wauneta and its residents. Thanks to the WCF’s affiliation with the Nebraska Community Foundation, gifts made to the WCF are fully tax-deductible under the I.R.S. tax code and 501(c)3 status.
You too can play a role in helping Wauneta to improve and thrive with your gifts to the WCF. Among the ways you can help support the WCF are donations of cash, gifts of grain or livestock, appreciated securities or real estate, depreciated farm machinery and vehicles, life insurance or charitable gift annuities, among others.
A local Fund Advisory Committe, comprised of Wauneta-area residents, oversees the allocation of WCF funds and helps determine how these funds will be responsibly invested until put to use in the community. Your contributions to the WCF can be used for specific donor-named purposes or gifted with the use of the funds to be determined by the local WCF Advisory Committee.
The Nebraska Community Foundation works with community, organizational and donor-advised affiliated funds serving 255 Nebraska communities located in 77 counties. NCF and its affiliated funds have reinvested $222.7 million in Nebraska since 1994.
